
Rules for submitting a proposal for a Thematic Seminar (TS):
- Up to 3 proposers per TS are allowed to register;
- At least one of the TS proposers must hold a doctoral degree;
- The same coordinator may not register for more than one TS;
- The proposal must necessarily be aligned with debates relevant to the anthropology of science and technology and/or the theme of the event;
- Proposals made by people working in different institutions (at least two) and in different regions of the country, with racial and gender diversity in their composition, are encouraged.
- Proposals must contain a title (up to 200 characters), an extended abstract (up to 1,500 characters) and three to five keywords;
Rules for proposals to paper presentation at the TS:
- The proposal is allowed to have a maximum of 3 (three) co-authors;
- The minimum qualification for submitting a proposal is a degree in progress. It is desirable that the papers approved for the TS include authors from different academic backgrounds, with up to 3 (three) undergraduate students allowed per TS (one per session);
- Each participant may submit only 1 (one) abstract as first author, although they may participate as co-author in another paper proposal.
- Abstracts may be presented in one of three languages: Portuguese, Spanish or English.
- Proposals must include the full name, title and institutional affiliation of each author and co-authors (full name, institution, e-mail).
- Proposals must contain 1 (one) title (up to 200 characters), 1 (one) extended abstract (up to 1,500 characters) and three to five keywords;
On submitting full papers for inclusion in the event’s proceedings:
Participants who have their abstracts approved and wish to submit their full papers for inclusion in the Proceedings of the 10th ReACT should attach the final file in the registration space by October 17th.
Full papers must be prepared in accordance with the specifications listed below. Papers that do not comply with the required formatting will not be included in the Proceedings of the 10th ReACT.
General text formatting:
- File format: Word (extension .doc .docx)
- Margins: top 2.5 cm, bottom 2.5 cm, left 3 cm, right 3 cm;
- Font: Times New Roman, size 12;
- Line spacing: 1.5;
- Alignment: justified;
- Text length: between 15 and 20 pages including bibliographical references;
- The paper must include, at the top of the text, a bold title in Times New Roman font, size 12;
- Illustrations, tables and graphs should appear in the body of the text legibly and numbered;
- Citations and bibliographical references must follow the corresponding standards of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards – ABNT.
Author identification and other guidelines:
- After the title, insert the full name of the author(s), one per line, aligned with the right margin;
- The institutional affiliation should be highlighted in a footnote;
- Abstract of the work in Portuguese (between 200 and 300 words);
- List of three to five keywords.
Rules for Book Launches:
- A The work must necessarily be aligned with debates relevant to the Anthropology of science and technology and/or the theme of the event;
- Title of the publication;
- Whether it is an authored book or a collection of articles;
- Authorship;
- Institutional affiliation;
- Brief description of the theme of the book;
- Publisher;
- Year of the edition launched at the event;
- Brief description of authorship and/or organizers;
- Funding; etc.
